Next weekend will bring the Ridgefield Hotel’s Staff Party - Cole Ridgefield’s thank you to his staff for all of their hard work. Here’s how I think it will work. If anyone has any questions or suggestions, please ask.
- The “night” of the party will be spread out in real time over 4 days: Friday 4th May to Monday 7th May. This is to give everyone plenty of time to start and complete paras and plots.
- People can have as many paras going as they want.
- Please tag all party paras with: ridgefield party (just so
Ipeople can creep on what’s happening!)- If people want it, I will set up a chatzy for the party.
- The setting is in the nightclub, the Sky Lounge but the rest of the hotel can be used to.
- All staff have the night off.
- Players who’s character is a guest at the hotel are invited too.
- Lots of in-character drama is definitely encouraged. As always, OOC drama is not!

Rhys hates responsibility. When his parents tried to persuade him to get a good career, he said no. When his last girlfriend asked him to marry her, he said no. He doesn’t want to be tied down at all. He doesn’t want anyone depending on him, except to refill their drinks and keep the good times rolling. He loves working at the Ridgefield because he can have as much fun as he wants and not worry about being the responsible adult his family expects him to be. Rhys is young and still has plenty of time to worry about what the future might bring. Why worry about tomorrow when you can party and fuck today?
Xander used to have high hopes and dreams. He wanted to be a model and be the face on the front of hundreds of magazines. But after trawling around all the model agencies he could find for years, he has yet to find his big break. He hasn’t given up on his dream, just put it on hold temporarily. He uses his good looks at work in the Ridgefield’s nightclub to get him extra tips and extra benefits, like hooking up with guests and staff. If he can’t grace the front covers like he wanted, he will at least get some enjoyment out of life in any way he can and there is plenty of fun to be had around the Ridgefield.
Duncan used to be a star. His movies were huge hits and he had fans all over the world. Then it all went wrong. A sex scandal involving one of his fans made his world crash around him and Duncan was forced to leave Hollywood and hide. He made it as far as Vegas but his luck well and truly ran out one night at the craps table. Now he has to work in the Ridgefield to make ends meet and he’s not happy about it. He still gets recognised but it’s for all the wrong reasons. Will Duncan find a way to make things go right for him once again?

Feel free to start your party paras whenever you want. Remember that all staff have the night off and the guests are invited too.
The main setting of the party is the Sky Lounge nightclub and it’s a free bar. However you can use any setting within the hotel for your paras.

Being in a highly pressure environment like a kitchen at an extremely busy hotel seems to suit the quiet by nature Mark Seymour. He likes to get on with his job and do it well. He doesn’t enter the competition between the other chefs to be the boss, although he takes great amusement from watching the other chefs trying to outwit each other. Mark is dependable and hard working. He is also a great friend to any who can can past his quietness. And if someone who can get past his quietness that he is attracted to, he rewards them in every way he can think of.
Peter is the youngest of a large family and as such was babied a lot by his parents and his many siblings for most of his life. Determined to prove them that he could make it on his own, he moved out of his family home and moved to Vegas. For a while, he struggled to adapt to the pace of life in the city and he struggled to make ends meet. Then he got a break and got a job as a bar-tender in the Sky Lounge. This is his first full time job and he is loving every minute of it. A few months ago, he was thinking about quitting Vegas all together. Now he can’t believe he even considered leaving!
Joshua has very recently been promoted to the role of supervisor of the housekeeping team and that’s part of his problem. Before his promotion, he was just one of the cleaners, pushing his cart between the many rooms of the hotel, joining in the bitching sessions about how the guests seem totally incapable of cleaning up after themselves. Now he has to try and exert his authority over his team but they don’t seem to want to listen. It’s not that they don’t respect him. In fact most of them would count Joshua as a good friend. It’s just that he needs to work on his assertiveness. Will he find a way to finally get his team to listen to him without losing them as friends too?
Samuel is a professional poker player who takes his game very seriously. Unless you are one of the very lucky few that Samuel actually trusts, you never see past his world famous poker face. He is using the Ridgefield as his permanent base as he works his way around the other casinos in the city, competing in various poker tournaments. He feels at home at the Ridgefield since it was the first hotel he stayed in when he first arrived in Sin City and he honestly couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else. Where else would he get the special service he receives from certain staff members but at the Ridgefield?
Brody is known for his gruff and cold attitude when he is working on the door for the nightclub the Sky Lounge at the Ridgefield Hotel. He takes no nonsense and will happily intimidate anyone who tries to give him any trouble at all when he is on duty. Off duty, it takes Brody to unwind from his job and drop the distant attitude. Most people know to avoid Brody for the first couple of hours after his shift finishes but they can all depend on him to join the party eventually. He will do anything for his friends at the Ridgefield since they remind him to not take things so seriously all the time.
